Is STEM Right for My Child?

Picture
Here's one question every parent asks: “Is this the best school for my child?” And it’s a question you should ask. You work SO hard, lose SO much sleep, make so many sacrifices to give your child the best. Why? Because you want them to grow up to be men and women with the integrity and skills to succeed.
If you agree with some or all of the statements below, then a
Catholic STEM Elementary School
might be the perfect fit for your child and family.
I’m looking for a school that prepares my child for a dynamic and competitive education and job field.

STEM careers are future proof, offering students the knowledge and experience they need to secure some of the best careers available — and succeed in them. STEM careers earn nearly twice the salary as others careers while millions of STEM-related jobs are left unfilled each year. STEM students are getting a head start in learning in-demand skills no matter the career they choose.

Diversity in STEM fields is important to me.

Catholic Schools serve diverse populations, and by equipping children with STEM skills at an early age, there will be more diversity in STEM fields of study and work. Women are underrepresented in Engineering and Technology fields. Blacks and Hispanics also make up a smaller share of STEM occupations compared to the general workforce. Through our schools, we are promoting equity in education and in the workforce, contributing to better solutions to the world’s diverse problems.

I want my child to be a team player, an effective communicator, and a problem solver.

Walk into a STEM classroom and you’ll see tables arranged in groups, collaborating regularly with their classmates. This is a big part of what we do at our Catholic STEM schools because it is a big part of how to be successful in work.

I think the world needs more creativity and innovation in little ways and big, and I’d love to see my child contribute to that.

Some days your child won’t even sit at their desk for more than a minute. They may be tasked with building the tallest tower out of marshmallows or analyzing a plant they’ve been growing all year. We believe creativity can be taught, and the younger it is taught, the better!

I want my child to be confident, focusing on solutions, rather than problems or uncertainty.

So many children focus on being perfect and never making a mistake. At a Catholic STEM school, your child will learn to see mistakes as a necessary step for learning and growth. Your child will be empowered to reach beyond his or her comfort zone to approach problems with confidence, knowing there is always a solution to be discovered.

I want my child to be in a school that builds up their character, integrity, and virtues.

Set apart by being centered on God, no other educational setting can develop rich faith and character in students, empowering them to be virtuous innovators — personally and professionally. We believe every child can be a saint through their careers and more is at stake than ever before in STEM-related fields to create innovative solutions that don’t sacrifice human dignity for profit.
What are you waiting for?
Catholic STEM Schools are great for communities, companies, and your child.
