What is STEM?
STEM education is an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning that integrates the content and skills of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics within real world contexts. This approach to learning promotes deeper learning through inquiry, logical reasoning, collaboration, problem solving and investigation.

Why STEM Programs?
Science, technology, engineering and mathematics workers play a key role in the sustained growth and stability of our global economy - helping us design the future. STEM education equips and empowers the next generation of innovators to better serve our world.

​How does the learning in the STEM Network differ from standard learning programs?
Our STEM Network schools use an interdisciplinary approach to learning that removes the traditional barriers separating the 4 disciplines and integrates them into real world, rigorous and relevant learning experiences for students. STEM learning allows for students to apply knowledge of Math and Science to create Technologies for solving real world solutions using the Engineering design Process. In addition, STEM helps us make critical decisions about health care, finances, etc and illuminates complex issues that governs our present and future, while revealing the beauty and power of our world.

Do STEM Network students meet academic criteria of all subjects?
YES! The foundation of STEM education is in content found in current standards. Therefore, STEM Network students attain the same level of competence in all standard subjects. Furthermore, STEM students develop additional soft skills in creativity, innovation, collaboration and problem solving.

Does STEM learning work for a wide range of learners?
YES! The STEM Network utilizes an approach that provides many opportunities for all students. Specifically, using an interdisciplinary and student - centered approach allows all types of learners to better access content using multiple modalities.
